What’s one thing you own that holds deep sentimental value?

I had a spring keychain like the one in the photo (the actual clip was slightly different but the concept is the same.

My bff at school bought me that as a gift. I’ve been using it since then, going through college, going through my first and second and third jobs, always using it. The plastic spring material gave out after a few years, but the keyring and the clip held on.

Until literally last Saturday where the bottom part of the clip finally came lose and fell out of the clip.

The whole keyring is probably about 30 years old now, and the clip held up for all that time. Not bad for something a few pounds (remember we were schoolkids and we had very limited money).

I do wonder how she is now? We went our separate ways after school and never exchanged numbers (this was an era before mobile phones)
