To be understanding (don’t make assumptions about the person)

To listen (understand the other person)

To be open (you might be wrong about them or something about them)

Don’t be judgmental (you might not like something about them – the way they dress, talk, their opinions, their orientation, their identity- but that should not always be the reason you hate them)
